About

My name is Sherman and I grew up in Hong Kong.  This blog is to share my food adventures in Hong Kong (and elsewhere) with you, including restaurant reviews and recipes you can try.  Hopefully when you next want to try something new, instead of racking your brain you’ll be able to just come here!

I believe good food is tasty and healthy.  When dining out, which is what Hong Kongers do all the time, it should also be good value for the food, service and atmosphere.

Of course all reviews are based on my humble opinion and may naturally be biased, so don’t take this as a be all and end all definitive bible, but simply a gentle guide to lead you on your quest for good food.

If you want to contact me about anything related to the site, please email contact@hongkongnomnom.com.

Bon appétit!

      • Thanks! I’m following you then, so I won’t miss the beat…If you plan to go to Bangkok, let me know. I know places to eat there. In fact I’m going there in about 3 weeks. I will be posting some of the restaurants on my blog. Enjoy eating in HongKong…I’m envy.

          • Yike…you were right in the middle of the crisis, I guess. Well I’m going to Japan next month, too bad I didn’t get to go to Hong Kong this year but I might next year. Depend on which airline I use to fly back to Bangkok. If I use Cathay Pacific then I stop over in Hong Kong to eat for a few days. Still LOVE dim-sum (and all the arts) at the China Club the best and the Crystal Jade Xiao Long Bao…just the thought make me hungry!

            • Oh no I missed the BKK conflict thankfully. Not sure about you but Cathay is probably one of the best airlines I’ve flown on, and many friends agree! As for xiaolongbao, you absolutely must try Din Tai Fung, which is a Taiwanese chain doing Shanghainese food, but they have several types of xiaolongbao which are amazing. In Causeway Bay and Tsim Sha Tsui.
